Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Here's a bit about Me:
ABOUT
Nicole Stewart, founder and CEO of the Viola Heritage House Museum, is a passionate advocate for preserving history and education while championing the next generation of Legacy Builders. She is an active member of the Historic Preservation Committee at the Fort Bend County Historical Commission, the Fort Bend Service Junior League, and the Brazos River Rotary Club.
Nicole, a small business owner, combines her healthcare background at Dynasty Homecare (dynastyhomecare.com) with her entrepreneurial spirit through her online boutique, Shimmer Me (shimmerme.org). Blessed with an understanding of legacy and preservation, she is passionate about heritage, education, and balancing life as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
THE DISCOVERY
Discovering and purchasing the home of Mrs. Viola G. Randle, the first African-American female mayor of Fulshear, TX, was a pivotal moment for Nicole, as it connected her deeply to the historical significance of the property. This personal bond fueled her mission to honor and elevate the contributions of African-American women in the region. However, her journey took a heartbreaking turn when the home was demolished by a developer, with no effort from the city to preserve this important landmark. Devastated, Nicole channeled her passion into creating the Viola Heritage House Museum as a mobile exhibit, sharing this rich history with communities across Texas. Despite the loss, she remains committed to securing a permanent location in Fulshear, ideally on the land once owned by Mrs. Randle, to continue honoring her legacy
THE MISSION
Nicole extends her impact beyond the museum by collaborating with local schools to create programs that bring history to life, fostering pride and connection among students. Her commitment to making history accessible has shaped Fulshear’s cultural landscape and inspired others to drive change through education.
Looking ahead, Nicole aims to secure a permanent location for the Viola Heritage House Museum within the proximity of the Viola Randle Elementary School and expand its mobile exhibit, reaching more communities and continuing her mission of preserving African-American women's contributions.
