Time Travel Adventure Through The Ages:


Get ready to be inspired as we take a journey through Fort Bend County's history and its trailblazing leaders. Fort Bend County has been home to them all, from political giants to philanthropic powerhouses and community champions. 


One section of the exhibit is dedicated to showcasing the African American Pioneers of Fort Bend County and their remarkable contributions to the thriving suburb of Fulshear, TX. We'll explore the town's evolution from a small farming community to a vibrant hub of progress and innovation.


Get ready to be blown away by the Leader Profiles, which will feature immersive multimedia displays and sensational biographical details. These profiles will highlight the remarkable achievements and contributions of these leaders, giving you a glimpse into their remarkable impact on the community. Get ready for a journey like no other as we delve into the inspiring stories of Fort Bend County's finest.


Interactive Elements


EXHIBIT - 1

 

Selfie Station Celebrating Culture: 

We will celebrate our community's diverse cultural heritage through displays of traditional clothing, music, and art. We will also learn about the customs and traditions brought by immigrants from around the world and their impact on our town.

Activities:

  • Cultural dress-up station: Try on costumes from different cultures and take photos with friends.
  • Craft corner: Create your own multicultural artwork inspired by traditional designs.

 

Community Heroes Meet the inspiring individuals who made a difference in our town's history. Learn about local leaders, activists, and philanthropists who worked to create positive change and improve the lives of others.

Activities:

  • Storytelling circle: Listen to tales of courage and leadership from our community's past.
  • Heroic role-play: Act out scenes depicting the achievements of historical figures.

 Innovations and Inventions:  Discover the technological advancements that transformed daily life in the 20th century. From the invention of electricity to the rise of the automobile, explore how innovation shaped our town and its industries.

Activities:

  • Hands-on experiments: Experiment with simple machines and electrical circuits.
  • Model car assembly: Build and decorate miniature cars using recycled materials.


EXHIBIT - 2

Build Your Own Heritage House: Encourage creativity and architectural exploration by inviting students to design and construct their own miniature heritage houses inspired by the architecture of different historical periods. (All ages)

Architectural Design Station:  There will be an array of art materials, building blocks, and architectural design templates for children to create their unique heritage house designs. 

Historical Design Inspiration: Display photographs and blueprints of historical houses from different time periods to inspire children's architectural creations and educate them about architectural styles.


EXHIBIT - 3

Role-Playing Station: Kids can dress up as Leaders and historical figures and participate in role-playing activities based on significant events in Fort Bend County's history, promoting empathy and understanding of different perspectives. (Grades 1-2)

Legacy Reflection: Students will reflect on the contributions of Fort Bend's leaders and brainstorm items to include in a collective time capsule representing the county's heritage. (All ages)

Leader Tributes: Students can write letters or create artwork expressing gratitude and admiration for specific leaders, which will be included in the time capsule as heartfelt tributes.  (All ages)

Community Engagement: The exhibit will encourage families to contribute their own items and stories to the time capsule, fostering a sense of community participation and ownership in preserving local history. (All ages)


Artifact Hunt: A scavenger hunt activity where you can search for specific artifacts hidden throughout the exhibit, learning about their historical significance along the way. (All ages)
